With all the charm of an iron fist wrapped in a velvet glove VORFREUDE lures you in
with its smooth, insistant groove and layered chord hook.
This is the naughty cousin of VORFREUDE with it’s hypnotic, detuned Moog riff inspired by the days of Elektrochemie.

6. ELECTRIC BALLROOM
Here Thomas Schumacher uses a classic breakbeat in combination with a dub-techno
chord and lashings of reverb to create a dark atmosphere loaded with promise.
7. EVERY LITTLE PIECE FEAT. CAITLIN
A collaboration with one time Elektrochemie bandmate Caitlin, this first single from STAND UP will feature remixes from the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, Hot Since ’82 and Joris Delacroix.
Banshee is a no holds barred riot created with Thomas Schumachers beloved ARP2600 synth plug-in.
Inspired by Sunday mornings at the Panorama Bar, WOLF explores hedonistic light and shadow.
Once again respresenting his ecelctic and diverse taste in music, WAREHOUSE
references deephouse with its filtered chords and vocal stabs.
This track is an updated time capsule from mid 90’s rave, hence the name, transporting Thomas Schumacher back to his 20’s.
12. IS YOUR KETTLE ON? FEAT. CHELONIS R. JONES
A collaboration with Chelonis R. Jones whom Thomas Schumacher first worked with
during his time with Get Physical Music. Thomas Schumachers music and Chelonis’
unique vocal and lyrical style, referencing artists from Curtis Mayfield to Prince make for a perfect pairing.
STAND UP closes with this unexpected and exceptional soundtrack-esque piece of
Thomas Schumacher is a DJ/producer based in Berlin. After breaking through with the success of “When I Rock” in 1997 on legendary Mancunian Techno label Bush, he went on to release 5 albums and dozens of high-profile remixes. Thomas Schumacher has also written the soundtrack for a staging of „Hamlet“ at the Schauspielhaus Bonn. Four of his single releases have entered the German Top 100 with „Schall“ being his biggest commercial hit, making it into the top 20 in 2001.
Before embarking on his solo career, Thomas Schumacher was a key figure in establishing the rave scene in his native city of Bremen in the early 90s. He founded his first label, Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten in 1998, which went on to release music from acts like Umek, Adam Beyer, Stephan Bodzin, and Deetron to name but a few. He has also released material as „Elektrochemie“ (together with singer Caitlin and Stephan Bodzin) on Get Physical Music.
In 2012 Thomas Schumacher founded his label Electric Ballroom and has recently started producing a monthly radio show MY ELECTRIC BALLROOM which has recieved worldwide web syndication.
