Annie Mac’s January 2013 Soundcloud Tracks
Upcoming London producer James Dexter joins the Lost My Dogranks with a four tracker taking in slow-burning deep groovers through to bumping, funked-up cuts. His ‘System Check EP’ is a perfect representation of the sound LMD has pushed over the past eight years and another example of the label not being afraid to work with talented producers in the early stages of their careers.
At 25 years old Dex has already amassed a number of noteworthy releases including tracks and remixes on Om Records, Salted Music, Nervous Records, Beatdown Music and Static Audio. His remix of Miguel Migs’ single ‘Tonight’ reached the number three spot in the Traxsource Top 100, with his own single ‘Give Me Something’ on Migs’ Salted Music not far behind. He has also recently released a track on Shades Of Gray’s Beef Records and has something in the works for Large, alongside remixes for Solid Ground and Bump Trax.
Already Dex can count a number of high profile DJs as fans – Fred Everything, Moodymanc, Karol XVII & MB Valence, Evren Ulusoy, Giom, CJ Mackintosh, Dale Howard and several more are all supporters of his music.
German duo Kruse & Nuernberg deliver their third EP for Hamburg’s Liebe*Detail imprint, and this time they team up with Aussie Nathan G. Following their debut album ‘Let’s Call It A Day’, which was released in October, the German duo are in high demand, while Nathan G is also a name on many lips thanks to his recent releases for labels including Large, Lazy Days and his own Luvbug.
The collaboration came about following a meeting between Florian, Nils and Nathan in Miami at WMC2012. Following Nathan’s subsequent move to Berlin, Kruse & Nuernberg wasted no time in inviting him to their Hamburg studio. Three busy days led to the basis of the three tracks, which were then finalized over the following weeks. The end result straddles the border line of deep and tech house – moody, grainy synths provide the atmosphere while deep bubbling, throbbing basslines provide the dancefloor groove. There’s also occasional nods to music of yesteryear, both house and further afield.

The Cryptozoologist EP
Cryptozoology, the search for and study of animals whose existence or survival is disputed or unsubstantiated, such as the Loch Ness monster and the yeti, is something that Henry Saiz finds deeply intriguing. His love of exoticism and strange natural/organic sounds (his own label is called Natura Sonoris – which means Nature of Sound) provide the fuel for this latest stunning Bedrock release.
“The Cryptozoologist” has an instantly striking, mysterious Andean / Peruvian melodic influence that harks back to cultures shrouded in the mysteries of time, creating a truly haunting track. “Uncharted” is equally hypnotic and enthralling and yet distinctly different. Henry is using a lot of analogue vintage gear to create his music, which is giving him a very distinct sound, a path that will lead to his hotly awaited debut artist album (due out in April 2013) on which he will delve totally into and explore an analogue world (www.wearehenrysaiz.com).
Henry’s critically acclaimed “Balance 019” album, released in 2011, was the catalyst for his star potential explode around the globe. His superb collaboration with Guy J (“Meridian”) and his solo track (“La Marea”) for the landmark Bedrock 100 release, were of the highest level of quality and his most recent release, “Our Discovery” (Natura Sonoris), became a huge Ibiza hit this summer, with supporters including John Digweed, Sasha, M.A.N.D.Y., Luciano, Visionquest, Danny Howells and many others. Henry Saiz is undoubtedly an extraordinarily talented young producer who is simply too exciting to be ignored!
